The ARW is a performance women's twin tip built specifically for women with wider overall dimensions, weight savings, and a flex profile fit for women . . .
Description
Grete Eliassen took gold last year against the best women in skiing as ESPN's Winter X Games. Then she took the ARW and made it her vision - a women's-specific park performance ski. Grete's idea is essentially the AR6 with a woman's touch. She started off by trimming some weight with reduced dimensions and a thinner version of our all-wood AR Core 2. She gave the ARW yoga-like flex with Carbon Fiberr Stringers, Sandwich Fiberflass Laminates and specific Flex Profiling. A 2.5 Impact Edge and Seven Series Base makes it tough on the surface, but soft on the inside.
A ski with graphics this hot can only mean one thing – Armada has made a women's downhill ski. Designed by X Games Gold medalist, Grete Eliassen, the ARW Series Women's Alpine Ski is packed with sensibility (and buff boys). Built to be lightweight for easy spins and smooth turns, the ARW utilizes Armada's AR 2 wood core, which has a lighter weight sandwich core for a lightweight feel. This ski has a softer flex than the AR5, providing more forgiving landings in the park and easier handling in the steeps. Mid-fat dimensions allow the ARW to canvas the mountain in search of the perfect turn. Designed to perform at a high level everywhere from the park to all-mountain riding.
Features
- Dimensions: 151 cm - 105/74/95; 161 cm - 113/81/103; 166 cm - 114/82/104
-
AR Core 2 - The outer edges of the core are targeted with a strong (dense) wood laminate, without the hardwood center. Provides durability and pop with additional weight savings.
-
Torsion Triax Fabric - Special combination of precured fiberglass to optimize torsional stiffness for well-defined turn initiation and carving.
-
Carbon Fiber Stringer - Embedded in the Torsion Triax Fabric and strategically laid behind the binding through the tail of the ski. The stringer increases pop for ollies, off jumps and in the pipe.
-
8 Series Top - New nylon top material for added durability and optimal graphic pop.
-
7 Series Base - Easy to maintain, Armada's new sintered bases provide improved speed and durability.
-
1.7 Edge Technology - Heat-treated to Armada's specifications, the bigger edges are coupled with extension rails that extend further into the ski's core. This adds resistance against pullout and helps reduce edge cracking due to rail impact. Steel edges are surrounded in rubber that helps stabilize and strengthen edges on those hard rail landings. In addition, reduced dimensionally for weight savings.
-
Progressive Tip/Tail Radius - The tip and tail profile is designed to have a slow, gradual rise to help keep the skis from getting hung up in soft or choppy conditions, and helps the ski track smoothly going into jumps and landings.
