The third installation of the Pipe Cleaner is even lighter and ventures outside the confines of the halfpipe. The new AR Core 2 attributes add pop for even more boost off the walls and jump lips. Those same lively attributes make this one of the most fun skis to haul ass down any run.

Description

Returning again for 09', the Pipe Cleaner is our highest performance park model. The PC took gold at the Winter X-Games World Superpipe Championships, US Open, Honda Ski Tour, World Skiing Invitational- the list goes on. Point is, Armada Team members are winning an ass ton with this model. No park ski has a resume close to it. The public can purchase the very same ski Tanner, TJ, Jacob and other Armada comp rider's use. The rest of us will appreciate the PC's new refined AR Core 2 and World Cup inspired race base outside the park as well. Beware, once you have high performance race base, it's hard to go back. The Pipe Cleaner is only available in limited numbers around the globe.
Once used exclusively by Armada's pro-team in major pipe competitions and now available to the general public, the Pipe Cleaner takes the speed and materials performance of the AR6 to a whole new level, at slightly reduced dimensions.

Features
  • Dimensions: 166 cm - 114/82/104; 171 cm - 115/83/105; 176 cm - 116/84/106; 181 cm - 117/85/107cm
  • AR Core 2 - The outer edges of the core are targeted with a strong (dense) wood laminate, without the hardwood center. Provides durability and pop with additional weight savings.
  • Torsion Triax Fabric - Special combination of precured fiberglass to optimize torsional stiffness for well-defined turn initiation and carving.
  • Carbon Fiber Stringer - Embedded in the Torsion Triax Fabric and strategically laid behind the binding through the tail of the ski. The stringer increases pop for ollies, off jumps and in the pipe.
  • 8 Series Top - New nylon top material for added durability and optimal graphic pop.
  • Comp Series Base- What the Pro's use! A limited edition “racing” base. More porous than Armada's standard 7 series base. This allows the running surface to soak up wax like a sponge, significantly increasing speed. This base requires a higher level of care and attention to keep it in podium finish condition.
  • 1.7 Edge Technology - Heat-treated to Armada's specifications, the bigger edges are coupled with extension rails that extend further into the ski's core. This adds resistance against pullout and helps reduce edge cracking due to rail impact. Steel edges are surrounded in rubber that helps stabilize and strengthen edges on those hard rail landings. In addition, reduced dimensionally for weight savings.
  • Progressive Tip/Tail Radius - The tip and tail profile is designed to have a slow, gradual rise to help keep the skis from getting hung up in soft or choppy conditions, and helps the ski track smoothly going into jumps and landings.
According to FREESKIER 2007, "The Pipe Cleaner is as close to a team-only park pipe offering as you will find in 2007. The ski's construction includes a racing base normally found only in World Cup DH skis, Armada's wood AR Core 2, vertical sidewalls and carbon fiber stringers. This ski is super light, super lively and simply amazing. If the fact that most of the major comps in recent years have been worn by Armada riders using this technology doesn't sell you on these skis, then go made something made in China."
