Super Light In-mold construction Paired with BOA® Fit system keep everything secure on your head. A removable Liner Cap with a brim make it highly modular for changing weather conditions while increasing your ability to hear your partners, The mesh brim lets Hot air escape keeping fog to a minimum while keeping snow from getting into your sunglasses or building up on top of your goggles. MIPS® (MultiDirectional Impact Protection System), TwiceMe and RECCO all come standard in the MOD BC for the Pinnacle of backcountry safety. It’s Also Triple Certified for Skiing and Snowboarding as well as the Mountainering standard. Toggles that stow in the sides of the helmet let you attatch it to the outside of your pack without any additional Straps.

Technical Features 

MIPS® Equipped

The Mips® safety system features a low-friction layer inside the helmet, generally between the padding and the EPS foam protective layer, that allows a multi-directional movement of 10-15mm on certain angled impacts, intended to help reduce rotational force to the head.

BOA® Fit System

The micro-adjustable BOA® Fit System provides fast, micro-adjustability for a customized and fine-tuned fit.

Adjustable Ventilation

Located at the top of the helmet vents can be quickly opened and closed depending on the wearers needs.

FIDLOCK® Buckle

Seamless magnetic functionality lets you fasten your helmet with gloves on.

In-Mold Construction

Oakley’s lightest construction method, using a thin polycarbonate (PC) shell applied over an EPS foam liner. In-mold creates a low profile and lightweight design. When ounces count go in-mold.

Eyewear Storage

Whether you’re climbing the summit before sunrise or getting in an afterwork lap, two ports toward the front of the helmet include options for eyewear stowage and headlamp integration.

Ionic+ Padding

Ionic+ is an anti-microbial, odor-fighting material that’s machine washable. We’ve also developed the padding system to be one piece for easy packing.

Packing System

For helmet storage on and off the mountain, MODBC includes bungee straps on both sides of the helmet for backpack mobility, a molded rubber yoke for flexibility when packing, and a helmet bag for extra protection when not in use.
